Ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp said he had received several offers from Bayern Munich. He served on the Borussia Dortmund bench before joining Liverpool in 2015.
Fully engaged in a multiple-stake at the end of the season for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp had time to have a little scoop at his pre-match press conference. On the eve of the FA Cup final against Chelsea (this Saturday at 5:45 pm), the Reds coach revealed that they rejected several offers from Bayern Munich, without specifying the dates.
“I could have won more titles in my life”
“I could have gone to Bayern several times, I’m almost sure I could have won more titles in my life,” he explains in comments relayed by The Athletic. His last sentence suggests at least one offer came while he was at Liverpool, which he has since leaving Borussia Dortmund since 2015: ‘I had a contract here and I never went to Bayern’.
“The world is not full of winners, the world is full of people who try, fortunately, German coaches are also philosophers. I try and sometimes I win together with other people. I am happy with it” . Klopp, the winner of the League Cup against the Blues, found Tuchel this Saturday afternoon to try to win a second trophy this season. In the Premier League before his last two title chances and the possibility of a quadruple, then in the Champions League against Real Madrid on 28 May.
