Kurt Zouma will be on trial for animal abuse on May 24, The Athletic reports this Friday. In early February, the West Ham defender was at the center of a major controversy after the publication of a video that showed him licking his cat.
Kurt Zouma will recover in just a month. As The Athletic reported on Friday, the French international will appear at Barkingside Court for the first time on 24 May after a video was published showing him misbehaving with his cat. The images, which were circulating on social networks, stunned public opinion and thrown the West Ham defender into turmoil.
He faces up to five years in prison.
If we refer to British law, the former Stefanois faces a threat of up to five years in prison. The appearance will take place six days after the Europa League final (Saturday 18 May), which Hammer will attempt to include after their clash against Frankfurt in the semi-finals (go 28 April, return 5 May).
He was greeted with a whistle and a boo from the stands, a day after the publication of his video, on his first ball against Watford on 8 February. Disturbed by opponents and his own supporters – even if there was applause – Zouma was able to measure the effect of his gesture.
