After a heavy loss to AS Monaco as of this Saturday (1-4), AS Saint-Etienne thought they would come back to score after Wahbi Khajri fell short of the penalty spot. But a CSC from Timothy Kolodziek dashed the Greens’ hopes of getting at least one point. In comments reported by L’Equipe, Pascal Dupraz said his player is deeply impressed by the situation.
The situation for Es Saint-Etienne is very dire. After a draw against the Girondins de Bordeaux (2-2), the Greens hope to take at least one point this Saturday against AS Monaco (1-4) for a few weeks. If the game had a poor start with two goals scored by the visitors before the first 30 minutes, Wahbi Khajri reduced the score from the penalty spot shortly before the break.
Founded by Pascal Dupraz, Timothy Kolodziewicz then sealed his own. At Monegasque’s center in the 60th minute, the Frenchman completely misses his clearance and pushes the ball into his own goalkeeper’s net. Very impressed with this CSC, the defender was immediately released by his coach.
In comments reported by L’Equipe, the latter states that he was deeply saddened by the condition of the player who trained at Lyon: “Looking at him in tears, it touched me like all his teammates. It would give us another reason to keep . We’re leaving.”
“I will continue to defend him”
Already the author of a goal during a loss against Olympique de Marseille in early April, Colo retains the confidence of Dupraz who is still on his services to allow Saint-tienne to defend his place in the elite. Trusts: “I will continue to defend him, I have decency. I have seen his attitude since I moved here, exemplary, he acts like crazy.”
It remains to be seen whether the former Sevilla FC player will be reunited for the next match against Rennes at Rojon Park (30 April). Currently a play-off but temporarily one point behind 17th Clermont, Saint-Etienne certainly no longer has the right to make mistakes.
