Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is not hiding his ambitions and believes that, thanks to the new Saudi owners, the club will soon be able to compete with the biggest “City and PSG” in Europe.
Jonjo Shelvey is full of ambitions for Newcastle. Notably since the acquisition of the club by a Saudi consortium led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman it has declined. The English media then mentioned the sale agreement to be around 352 million euros.

“Like Manchester City or PSG”
In an interview given to skysport, the midfielder was convinced: “This club will be huge, like Man City or PSG”, he promised. “It will take time, it is a building process. But Newcastle can go on top. We just have to be patient,” said the Englishman.
Above all, Jonjo Shelvey, who joined the club in 2016, looks forward to continuing the adventure with Newcastle. “I just want to be part of the process. […] I want to show the club that I deserve a few more years,” he told SkySport.
As of the next season, Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League. Performed by Bruno Guimaraes, Magpie remains on two wins in a row. Against Leicester on Sunday (2–1), the former Lyonnais scored twice and offered his team victory after extra time (95th).
