Mercato: PSG secure future for many of its young talent

PSG on Tuesday announced the extension of Lucas Lovely’s contract as well as the signing of Yunus El Hannach’s first professional contract.

PSG is looking forward to the future. This Tuesday, the Capitals club announced the extension of Lucas Lovely’s contract for an additional season. The young goalkeeper is now associated with the Capitals club until 2025. Arriving at the club in July 2021 from LOSC, Lucas Lovely has played in four UEFA Youth League games this season and 13 in the U19 National Championship. Repeatedly required to train with the first team, the Armentires native, during a visit to Saint-tienne, first joined the professional group last November, which counts towards the 15th day of Ligue 1.

The El Hannach brothers continue the adventure

In parallel, PSG announced the signing of Younes El Hannach’s first professional contract until 2025. After making his debut at AS Carrières Gresillons, the 17-year-old defender joined Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 8. He joined the Rouge & Blue Pre-Training Center during the 2017-2018 season and then the Training Center in 2019. Two of his brothers, Idris and Naufel, also play for Rouge et Bleu within the U17s and U16s respectively. The latter has also signed an apprenticeship contract with the club until 2024.

Through these signings, PSG want to ensure a future for their Titis. In recent times, many of them have given up on securing playing time at other clubs, unable to prove themselves with the first team. This season, Xavi Simmons and Edouard Michut have rarely had the opportunity to express themselves under the Mauricio Pochettino era. The first, sent to the stands to travel to Clermont, played only seven games in all competitions, while the second was content with three appearances in Ligue 1, including five minutes against the Auvergnaats.
