According to The Athletic, Arsenal would like to sign Gabriel Jesus during the next transfer window. The Manchester City striker is said to be interested in the opportunity as his playing time this season has been cut short.
Arsenal are looking for a new strongman in the attack. According to information from The Athletic, the Gunners are eyeing Gabriel Jesus, who is under contract with Manchester City until 2023. However, the two clubs have not yet exchanged views on this possible transfer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also targeted
Arsenal’s technical director, Edu, will have already voiced Gabriel Jesus’ representatives. The Brazilian striker will be well suited for this new challenge. This season, the 25-year-old has played 34 games in all competitions, scoring 7 goals.
Having arrived at Manchester City in early 2017 from Palmeiras against a €32 million check, Gabriel Jesus will find Pep Guardiola’s former assistant Mikel Arteta. In recent months, Brazil has lost playing time and Manchester City are also looking to sign a new striker, which could be Erling Haaland.
Arsenal sent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to FC Barcelona during the last transfer window. At the end of the contract next June, Alexandre Lacazette has yet to extend and the trend appears to be for a departure. In the event of a failure in talks with Gabriel Jesus, the London club could turn to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has a contract with Everton until 2025.
