Mercato: Borussia Dortmund deny Haaland’s move to Manchester City

On the sidelines of the largely won meeting against Wolfsburg (6–1), Sebastian Kehl, director of football for Borussia Dortmund, spoke publicly about Erling Haaland. If he indicates that a transfer to Manchester City is not on the agenda, he invokes a departure clause.

Where will Erling Haaland play next season? The soap opera of the summer may have just begun. The Norwegian striker, who is attracting the interest of several European leaders, including Barca, has yet to sign anything, according to Sebastian Kehl, director of football and future sporting director of Borussia Dortmund.

Kiehl discusses mysterious departure clause

Asked by Sky about Haaland’s possible departure for Manchester City before the match against Wolfsburg (6-1), he answered “no”, adding that the attacker’s contract contained “a departure clause”. And “delay” without going into more detail about it. German media recall that a release clause allows the Norwegian striker to leave the club this summer for a net worth of 75 million euros.

Kiehl wants “a decision as soon as possible” and assures the striker “still wants to play” while hiding some of his injuries in the wake of a transfer this summer. His coach also admitted that the club did not investigate his injury contracted at the end of March with his selection, which does not seem to be the first time. Two years after the end of his contract, Erling Haaland and his club continued to doubt his next destination.
