Mercato: Benlamri ends his contract with Qatar SC

Qatar SC on Sunday announced the termination of the contract of their Algerian defender Jemel Benlamari, who signed a two-year contract with the Doha club last summer.

It is another failure for Jameel Benlamari, whose experience in Qatar ended. Djamel Benlamri joined Qatar SC last summer from Olympique Lyonnais on a two-year contract. The Doha club announced the termination of the contract this Sunday without assigning any reason. After a disappointing experience with Les Goons, where he played only six games, the 32-year-old Algerian international was looking forward to restarting a career marred by injury. Alas, this new adventure in the Persian Gulf quickly ended, having played only 19 matches in all competitions.

Mention the track of return to Saudi Arabia

Jamel Benlamari, the author of three goals and one assist, is now without a club. A return to Saudi Arabia is being discussed in Algeria for the former JS tribal player, who played for Al-Shabab Riyadh’s Saudi team before joining the OL. In any case, it is not with the selection that he can hope to find Qatar as the Fenekes were ruled out of the 2022 World Cup by Cameroon in Blida on 29 March. Jamel Benlamari has 29 caps with Algeria, with whom he won the African Cup of Nations in 2019. Six months ago, another Algerian international, Yousef Belasli – today in Brest – terminated his contract with Qatar SC in the full Arab Cup.
