Klopp annoyed… but smiling
Clearly both men had some scores to settle for. On images from The Indian Paper, we see Villarreal’s Argentine defender coming to challenge the Reds’ coach, who is clearly annoyed. Adrian, under the amusing and living gaze of Liverpool’s Spanish goalkeeper, Trent Alexander-Arnold, intervenes with Foyth and exchanges a few words. The fourth referee is also present near the regroup before everyone quietly leaves on their side.
On the pitch, Jordan Henderson, who pushed Parvis Estupinon on his own goal, and Sadio Mane led Liverpool to victory against a very defensive Villarreal side. The Reds are in excellent shape for the return leg, which is scheduled for Tuesday May 3 at the Estadio de la Ceramica (9 p.m. on The Indian Paper 1). Villarreal have been doomed for another feat to prevent Liverpool from making a comeback in the final three years after their 2019 win.
