Jorginho’s charge against Lampard, "not ready" to train Chelsea

In an interview with ESPN, Jorginho returned to Frank Lampard’s passage on the Chelsea bench. The Italian midfielder believes that the English technician was not ready for the bench of the Blues and that he burned the stages.

It is often after a departure that the tongues are loosened. In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho returned to Frank Lampard’s passage on the Blues bench.

Sacked last January, the former English glory left Chelsea after a year and a half, without winning any trophies. If he had managed to snag a Champions League qualification in the previous year with a fourth place in the Premier League, the former Blues midfielder was in a slightly less comfortable position when he left his post (9th) .

According to Jorginho, the British technician has mainly taken advantage of the club’s legendary status to be propelled onto the bench of the Blues quickly, by skipping the stages.

“Look, I’m going to be very candid about Lampard. I believe that, being a legend at the club, he skipped some learning steps before moving on to a big club.”

A lack of experience pointed out

Banned from recruiting when he arrived on the bench of the Blues, Frank Lampard had yet succeeded in a promising first exercise. The English technician had notably revealed several young players, relying on Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount or Reece James.

Last summer, Chelsea then signed an XXL transfer window with the recruitments of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell or Edouard Mendy. But Frank Lampard failed to make the most of his new hires, leading him to the exit door.

Less used by Frank Lampard in the first part of the season, Jorginho explains that the Englishman may have landed too quickly at Chelsea when he had just concluded a season on the Derby County bench in the antechamber of English football.

“He came to a club where he is a legend, without having experience in other clubs. I think he came too early, that he jumped a few steps forward and was not not ready for a job at this level, to be honest. “

Shortly after his departure from PSG, Thomas Tuchel had quickly rebounded on the bench of the Blues and largely straightened the bar. Chelsea are currently in 4th place in the league, qualified for the FA Cup final by knocking out Manchester City last weekend. Thomas Tuchel’s troops will play the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid on Tuesday (on RMC Sport).
