Anthony “Rumble” Johnson had no mercy for Jose Augusto, beaten by KO in the 2nd round on Friday in Bellator 258 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The 37-year-old American fighter, who made his return to the Octagon after a four-year absence, will play in the semi-final of the tournament against Vadim Nemkov.
For his big Bellator debut, “Rumble” turned the light off. And Jose Augusto paid the costs. Very expensive. Friday, during Bellator 258 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville (Connecticut), the Brazilian who replaced Yoel Romero, last-minute package for not having passed medical tests, was beaten by KO by Anthony Jonhson in the 2nd round.

Make way for Nemkov for the light-heavyweight belt
At 37, the former UFC signed his return to the cage after four years of absence. A successful comeback. In the light heavyweight category, “Rumble” was heckled and even close to being knocked out in the 1st round when he fell after a wave of terrible blows from his opponent. “I don’t remember”, commented the American fighter after his fight broadcast on RMC Sport 2. A terrible hook was enough for him to bend Augusto in the 2nd round.
Winner of this quarter-final, “Rumble” will face Vadim Nemkov in the semi-final of the tournament. A fight for the light heavyweight belt: “It will be a great fight, he promises. I love Nemkov, he can do anything. I can’t wait to compete against him.”
