The allegation of counter-attacks between the Congress and the Modi government continues as banks loan case in the country writes off loans worth more than Rs 68,607 crore to 50 big wilful defaulters.
Union Minister Prakash Javedkar targeted Rahul Gandhi after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s attacking stance on the Modi government.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Wednesday that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi should take tuition from former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.
According to news agency ANI, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, ‘I am amazed by Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that the Modi government has waived 65,000 crore rupees. Not a single penny is forgiven. Writing off debt does not mean waiving off debt.
Rahul Gandhi should take tuition from Chidambaram to understand the difference between debt waiver and write-off of debt.
Prakash Javadekar further said, ‘Write off the loan is the process of showing the depositors the correct pictures of the bank. This does not prevent banks from taking action and making recovery. We have seen how Nirav Modi’s assets were confiscated and auctioned. Vijay Mallya has no choice left. The High Court has rejected his appeal.
