Akhil Kumar again joins NADA discipline panel

Former Commonwealth Games gold medalist boxer Akhil Kumar has been re-inducted into the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) discipline panel. Akhil is employed in Haryana Police and is currently ACP in Gurugram. He was earlier a member of this panel from 2017 to 2019.

NADA Director General Naveen Aggarwal said, “It is not about extending the tenure, he has been re-inducted into the anti-doping discipline panel.” The Arjuna Award-winning Olympians keep their distinct identity in the All India Games. He was also a government observer of boxing from 2017 to 2019.


Akhil said, “I was also a part of this panel earlier and I am ready to fulfill my responsibilities as a member again.” Whatever responsibility will be entrusted to me in this role, I will try my best to fulfill them. ‘

Earlier this boxer advocated declaring doping a crime. The NADA discipline panel also includes Athletes of Track and Field and Arjuna Award winner Ashwini Nachappa.
