New Delhi, 2 April: Today is a very important day in the history of Indian cricket. On this day, Team India had deposed on the World Cup for the second time. Earlier in 1983, India won the World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. The final match of ICC World Cup 2011 was played on 2 April 2011 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this historic match, former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara decided to bat first after winning the toss. The middle-order batsman for the team, Mahela Jayawardene (Mahela Jayawardene) played a brilliant century of 103 runs with the help of 13 fours in just 88 balls. The Indian team achieved the target of 275 runs by Sri Lanka at the loss of four wickets in 48.2 overs. Dhoni finally gave the team victory by hitting a six off Kulasekara’s ball.
